In 1948, Ruben Cora Ramos married his high school sweetheart, Paulita Serbia Hernandez, a kind and graceful young woman also from Guayama, Puerto Rico. Their bond laid the foundation for a strong and loving family life. Together, they raised three children—Ruben Jr., Gerry, and Nydia Cora Serbia—whom Ruben considered his greatest pride. A devoted father and provider, he ensured his children received a rich education in both music and academics, sending them to the Escuela Libre de Música and later to the University of Puerto Rico.
